The inspiration for the miscea KITCHEN came from the success of the original miscea CLASSIC system. Clients in healthcare and medical professions expressed a desire for a similar multi-fluid sensor faucet for their homes. Miscea GmbH listened to their feedback and developed a system that would better accommodate the various tasks in the kitchen environment and elevate the user experience with sensor technology.

What sets the miscea KITCHEN apart is its unique properties. It is the world’s first truly touchless multi-liquid dispensing faucet, combining two dispensers and a faucet into one unique and easy-to-use system. This eliminates clutter around the kitchen. The system can accommodate a variety of high-quality soaps, lotions, detergents, and disinfectants. It features the fastest and most reliable sensor technology available on the market, responding readily and accurately to hand movements. The water volume is controlled using a smooth round water flow controller. The miscea KITCHEN system is made using advanced infrared (IR) technology for proximity hand detection. Years of experience and product R&D has helped miscea to effectively harness this technology and apply it to achieve a high level of reliability. Light reflections in the sink and other highly reflective surfaces, as well as changing environmental light conditions have all proven to be major challenges. The software algorithm for filtering the detected signal played a major role in this. After many years of product optimization and development, miscea can proudly say that they have the most reliable and fastest responding sensor faucet in the world.

The miscea KITCHEN system is easy to operate. The speed and accuracy of the sensor technology give users complete control over the system. Water can be switched on and off as needed by passing a hand over the power symbol on the user display. Water temperature settings can also be adjusted completely touch-free. Selecting fluids such as soap or detergent is also very simple. Just wave a hand over the droplet symbol, a green or yellow light will start blinking, and then wave a hand over the power symbol on the display. Customization such as the amount of soap or detergent dispensed can be adjusted to user preferences with the optional miscea remote control.

The project started in March 2012 and finished a year later in Berlin. It was on display and launched at the ISH 2013 trade event in Frankfurt, Germany.
